Atlanta Wellness Alliance Rx

Atlanta Wellness Alliance Rx (AWARx) was founded in 2015 by Frenesa K. Hall, MD and Kathy Droze from a desire to help as many individuals as possible improve their overall health and wellness. Recognizing that small businessess are bearing the brunt of the health related costs in this country and employ the most people, we decided to strategically focus on helping small business owners help their employees.

People need help with their weight and the co-morbid conditions that go along with obesity. Health insurance companies do little. The majority of physicians lack the time to adequately address obesity other than prescrbing medications. The root - unhealthy behavior ( lifestyle issues like poor diet, lack of exercise, etc.)  - is not comprehensively addressed in the traditional medical setting.  Other factors that impact weight, like high insulin levels and the GI microbiome (gut bacteria) are also not addressed. This not only leaves the individual feeling defeated it also places the burden of the cost of obesity - both direct and indirect - squarely on the employer.

Dr. Hall received her undergraduate degree at Harvard University and her medical degree at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She has over 20 years of experience in primary care internal medicine and 5 years in life insurance medicine.

I recognized that AWARx can reach more people and improve more lives by helping companies help their employees and improve their bottom line in healthcare costs.

In the last decade, the health of the American workforce has drastically slipped relative to other developed countries.  This leaves an increasing burden on the corporations employing them, from the obvious challenges of increased health insurance costs to the less obvious pressures from increased absenteeism and the lower productivity or  “presenteeism”.

In addition, the healthy employees suffer from their premiums being increased while having to cover the reduced productivity of the less healthy coworkers.  Morale suffers.  The bottom line suffers.

Kathy Droze has implemented programs for over a decade to turn this around for both large and small businesses.
